Wine and the Pope: Châteauneuf-du-Pape - Avignon
We will spend the morning discovering the charming village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (one of the first AOCs in France) and taste several wines with different styles and characters in two selected vineyards.
With a panoramic view at the foot of the castle’s ruins.
We will suggest that you to have lunch in Sorgues, Villeneuve-lès-Avignon or on the island of Barthelasse in Avignon.
Continuation to Avignon. We will walk a few minutes from the ramparts on the banks of the Rhône towards the largest Gothic building in the world, classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the Popes' Palace, built in less than 20 years by two Popes in the 14th century.
